Synopsis –

Penthouse Prince by Kendall Ryan

Lexington Dane was my brother’s best friend growing up.

We did everything together.

He taught me how to throw a punch, how to change a tire…and he taught me how to kiss. I fell hard and fast, and gave him all my firsts.

I promised I’d wait for him…

But I’m done waiting, because he went off to college and never came back. He took his fancy business degree and moved to New York City, where he promptly became a real estate mogul—turning every penthouse and apartment project he touched into gold.

It’s been ten years, and now he’s back and needs a favor…someone to watch his little girl. That’s right, the cocky penthouse prince and heartbreaker extraordinaire Lexington is back with an adorable two-year-old daughter. Guess who he wants to watch her?

I’ve never been able to say no to him. I might agree to be the nanny for his precious little angel, but there’s no way in hell I’m falling for her hot-as-sin daddy.

Review –

I have been a Kendall Ryan fan for as long as I remember because her books are my go to whenever I am confused about what to read next. So, you can guess how excited I was about Penthouse Prince. But, to my utter disappointed, this book just didn’t cut out for me.

I am in love with her “Hot Jocks” series, but this one just could not come to my likings.

So, the book is about Lexington and Corrigan. Lexington stays in NY City and works with the real estate and also has a two year old daughter. Corrigan is a first grade teacher and lives in North Carolina, their home town.

Lexington and Corrigan had history alright. They dated back in high school, all the while keeping it a secret from Dak (Corrigan’s brother and Lexington’s best friend). And now, he is back for good.

I thought Lexington was a very charming and mature character. You know, always there for his daughter and mother. Corrigan, to me, was rather a very simple character, invested in her own life.

They had chemistry, I agree. But, their chemistry didn’t make me swoon. It was meh for me. I couldn’t be bothered about them caring for each other. It was very fast paced and I finished it in an hour and half. I just could see the anticipation building here. And, I was actually waiting for the book to be over.

The themes in book were very nicely chosen though. It is a second chance romance, with the single dad and the brother’s best friend trope. So, if you like any of these you cold check this out.

There are many readers who actually enjoyed it very much, but I couldn’t find myself liking it, which is totally on me though.

” I fell hard and fast, and gave him all my firsts.

I promised I’d wait for him…

But I’m done waiting “

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The Synopsis :

Liam James, boy next door and total douchebag, is my brother’s best friend. I can’t stand him. Well, that’s not strictly true, at night I see a side of him that no one else does. Every night Liam becomes my safe haven, my protector, the one to chase the demons of my abusive childhood away and hold all the broken pieces of me together.

He’s cocky, he’s arrogant, and he’s also some sort of playboy in training. With his ‘hit it and quit it’ mentality, he’s the last person you’d want to fall in love with. I only wish someone had told my heart that…

Review :

I read this book when it was originally published in wattpad. And believe me when I say this, it got me hooked on it ever since. I had actually finished this book in one sitting. So, if you are looking for a sweet, high school romance, this is it for you. The story is about Amber and Liam and their journey for a happy ending.

The two of them have known each other since they were little, considering they are neighbor. Liam is Amber’s twin brother (Jake)’s best friend. And he has been in love with her from the moment he laid eyes on her, except she didn’t know that.

As the name suggests, he sneaks into her room every night, as they share her room. Okay, not because of what you are thinking, but because of something that happened in the past to Amber and led him inside her room.

I think the most important reason to read this book would because of Liam. He is such a sweetheart. The way he behaves with his “Angel” woowww. I mean can we please take a moment and swoon over his sweetness. Their banter throughout the day never fails to amaze me.

Their relationship was rather refreshing. They were always bickering and making fun of each other, on the other hand, they needed each other to calm themselves.  Like, for Amber, only Liam could save her from her demons (you get what I just did here *wink** wink*).

The most notable scene in the book for me would be when we come to know about why he has been calling Amber “Angel” since foreverrr.

The story also has some serious topics covered as well. It deals with physical and sexual abuse. Which in turn leaves a great impact on the mind and also the struggle a person has to go through to overcome them.

Okay. Let s also focus some of our attention on the writing style and stuffs.

The writing style was actually really nice, easy to understand and the style we would normally use.The story is told in dual perspective, i.e. Amber and Liam (though mostly in Amber’s pov).  This enables the readers to get into the heads of the characters and have a close connection with them.

Soooooo, the story was very easy going as to say. It had some serious moments, which was actually necessary to keep the story balanced.

I would totally suggest you to read this because who doesn’t love a cute love story about a bad boy who is in love with a girl since the very first time he saw her.

“It’s always been you; it’ll always be you, Angel.”
