I have a three date rule — but it’s not what you think.

See, I’ve been told I’m the “good time girl,” not the one you take home to Mom. And while that label stung at first, I’ve since embraced it — living the wild and free life and sticking to a three date max. That’s just enough time to have some fun and snuff out the possibility of catching feelings. And it’s been working for me for years…

Until Makoa Kumaka.

Sadly, he also has a three date rule — and it’s the exact opposite of mine. From the second I meet him, all I can think about is stripping down that six-foot-five Herculean hunk of a man. But like the gentleman I wish he wasn’t, he’s making me wait.

The more time we spend together, the more I feel those pesky emotions creeping in. I’m even tempted to trust him, but blame it on my past or my instincts, I can’t shake the feeling that he’s hiding something…

I’ve been playing the game forever, and no man has ever won my heart — which meant they never had the power to break it.

But maybe I just hadn’t met the right player.

Maybe I’ll wish I never did.

My Review –

I read “The Wrong Player” a few days back and since then I just wanted to read about Bella and see how she finds her “Happily Ever After.”

I know we all love reading about Bad boy romances because who doesn’t, right? But from time to time we all need a reminder that no matter how much we fantasize about a bad boy, we always crave a good man. And that is what Makoa actually is. OMG I cannot stress enough on what a gentleman he is.

Makoa is soo kind, sweet and a perfect gentleman. NO matter how many times Bella tried seducing him, or getting close to him, he always ALWAYS turned her down.

So, Makoa is a football player and Bella has sworn off of them. Hence, when these two meet Bella had no clue who he actually is. And Makoa due to his own reasons had hid from her about his career and profession. They then get close and the story takes off.

A major part of this book is about people and their past experiences. No matter how many years have passed our past still affects us. And Belle and Makoa carry that baggage with them.

Belle thinks she is not capable of love and Makoa is in search of love, true love.

Overall this was a good read. Funny, filled with cute moments, banters and tension between the characters.

They say one action doesn’t define you.
I killed a man. Stabbed him in the neck and licked the blood off my lips after I did it.
Still, one action doesn’t define you.
I could have called anyone. My father, the Prez of The Fallen MC, our family lawyer, my best friend, Lila, or my brother, King.
I didn’t.
Instead, I called Lionel Danner, the police officer renowned for taking down the Nightstalkers MC. The man who had been my father’s arch nemesis for decades. The man who hated everything I stood for. A man who had disappeared from my life without explanation three years ago.
I called him.
And maybe one action doesn’t define you, but killing a bad man and calling in the good changed my life and it sure as hell changed his.

The third book in the Fallen Men series. A standalone featuring Harleigh Rose and Officer Lionel Danner.

My Review –

I am soo mad at myself for not picking this book earlier, simply because I was not a fan of Lion before. Yes, and I already hate myself for it. Thank you very much.

When Inked In Lies was released I had to read this to catch up with the whole series. And boy did this book do a number on me. I can now, very confidently say that Lion and H R are my favorite Fallen Couple. And no one can bear that. Period.

Lion Danner is a police officer. He is a good guy, follows rules and laws. But what he is inside a lot more different.

Harleigh Rose is the MC Princess, daughter of Zeus, the prez. She is a badass who knows what she wants and gets it.

These two very vivid yet soo similar characters come together when HR is in trouble and calls for his help. One would think she would ask her brotherhood, her family for help, but that’s not HR and her Lion.

The moment I started reading this, I was a goner. Never have I regretted not reading a book soo much than this. Giana Darling has crossed all levels of hotness and steaminess in Good Gone Bad and I love it.

HR and Lion are soo perfect for each other. I was hooked from the first page itself. Their relationship is filled with love, compassion and passion and hotness, definitely hotness.

If you haven’t read this yet, you have to, now. Like right now. NOW. Or else you will regret it, just like I did.

Ugh I am soooooo in loveee with Lion and his Rose.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Synopsis –

Critically acclaimed author Mia Sosa delivers a sassy, steamy enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy about a woman whose new job requires her to work side-by-side with the best man who ruined her wedding: her ex-fiancé’s infuriating, irritating, annoyingly handsome brother. Perfect for fans of Jasmine Guillory, Helen Hoang, and Sally Thorne!

A wedding planner left at the altar. Yeah, the irony isn’t lost on Carolina Santos, either. But despite that embarrassing blip from her past, Lina’s managed to make other people’s dreams come true as a top-tier wedding coordinator in DC. After impressing an influential guest, she’s offered an opportunity that could change her life. There’s just one hitch… she has to collaborate with the best (make that worst) man from her own failed nuptials.

Tired of living in his older brother’s shadow, marketing expert Max Hartley is determined to make his mark with a coveted hotel client looking to expand its brand. Then he learns he’ll be working with his brother’s whip-smart, stunning—absolutely off-limits—ex-fiancée. And she loathes him.

If they can survive the next few weeks and nail their presentation without killing each other, they’ll both come out ahead. Except Max has been public enemy number one ever since he encouraged his brother to jilt the bride, and Lina’s ready to dish out a little payback of her own.

But even the best laid plans can go awry, and soon Lina and Max discover animosity may not be the only emotion creating sparks between them. Still, this star-crossed couple can never be more than temporary playmates because Lina isn’t interested in falling in love and Max refuses to play runner-up to his brother ever again…

My Review –

“The Worst Best Man” was everywhere when it came out, like seriously. I could see everyone talking about how much they loved it and what an adorable book it was, and also the amount of love the characters got was unbelievable. So, I finally, finally decided to read it a few days back, and to say that I loved it would be an understatement.

The story began taking us to the day of Lina and Andrew’s wedding. Apparently Andrew decided that he doesn’t want to marry Lina because of something Max said to him (in their drunken state) the night before.

Lina has hated Max ever since the wedding because he was responsible for what had happened that day. Though Max was sorrow for what he did, which he can’t seem to remember at all.

Let’s move forward to three years when Lina and Max have to now pair up for a job. Now, when I saw that they were supposed to pair and how they reacted to it, I found it refreshing. Max was desperate to prove himself, prove that he was doing well even if it is without his brother. And Lina was desperate for this job.

When I started the book I was actually no sure if I wanted to read further, I mean it was quite boring to me. But then there was the weekend, which changed everything, for them and for me. I found the story pick up from there at such a high rate. I loved it from there.

Lina and Max’s banter was there from the start. Like that was what kept me hooked in the beginning part. These two were snarky, funny and mean to each other, and I loved every moment of it.

“But I want companionship, the security of knowing someone has my back, the ability to comfort and be comforted. Friendship. Vacations. Maybe even kids one day. Someone solid. Predictable. A person who doesn’t need passion and sparks to build a lasting relationship. I don’t know that I’ll ever find that individual—and that makes me extraordinarily sad.”

Beach Read

A romance writer who no longer believes in love and a literary writer stuck in a rut engage in a summer-long challenge that may just upend everything they believe about happily ever afters.

Augustus Everett is an acclaimed author of literary fiction. January Andrews writes bestselling romance. When she pens a happily ever after, he kills off his entire cast.

They’re polar opposites.

In fact, the only thing they have in common is that for the next three months, they’re living in neighboring beach houses, broke, and bogged down with writer’s block.

Until, one hazy evening, one thing leads to another and they strike a deal designed to force them out of their creative ruts: Augustus will spend the summer writing something happy, and January will pen the next Great American Novel. She’ll take him on field trips worthy of any rom-com montage, and he’ll take her to interview surviving members of a backwoods death cult (obviously). Everyone will finish a book and no one will fall in love. Really.

My Review –

This book got so much love and appreciation that it encouraged me to read this book even more. And I must say the love it got was well deserved.

I don’t know the reasons why other readers loved it, but I did because it taught me a lot of things. Firstly, who doesn’t want to read a romance between two writers? I mean an insider on what a writer goes through in forming, and writing a character, I would definitely want to know.

Secondly, it was so much more than just a romance book to me. These characters were in a quest to find solutions to their own problems, their own beliefs. It is so sad to see someone who loses reason with what they’ve always believed in.  I could connect so much January. Just like her I also believe in Happily Ever Afters, and to see her belief crumble down like this was soo heart breaking.

This book was something that turned out personal. I started reading because I believe in Happy Ending, and books give me that. So, seeing January loose her faith in Ever Afters, I broke down.

And Augustus, what can I say about him? His past is what defines him. But seeing him search for answers from when he was so young is shattering.

One more thing that I noticed this book highlighted was, that the actions of people close to us affect us in many ways. Bu it is up to us to let that shake what we truly believe and stand for. No matter what our close ones do, we must never let that affect our beliefs, just like Augustus and January.

I picked this because I wanted to read a cute romcom. But what it turned out was so much satisfying to me. I am going to remember this book forever. This book was so much more than just a story about fictional characters to me.

Bossman

The first time I met Chase Parker, I didn’t exactly make a good impression.

I was hiding in the bathroom hallway of a restaurant, leaving a message for my best friend to save me from my awful date.

He overheard and told me I was a bitch, then proceeded to offer me some dating advice.

So I told him to mind his own damn business—his own tall, gorgeous, full-of-himself damn business—and went back to my miserable date.

When he walked by my table, he smirked, and I watched his arrogant, sexy ass walk back to his date.

I couldn’t help but sneak hidden glances at the condescending jerk on the other side of the room. Of course, he caught me on more than one occasion, and winked.

When the gorgeous stranger and his equally hot date suddenly appeared at our table, I thought he was going to rat me out.

But instead, he pretended we knew each other and joined us—telling elaborate, embarrassing stories about our fake childhood.

My date suddenly went from boring to bizarrely exciting.

When it was over and we parted ways, I thought about him more than I would ever admit, even though I knew I’d never see him again.

I mean, what were the chances I’d run into him again in a city with eight million people?
Then again…

What were the chances a month later he’d wind up being my new sexy boss?

My Review –

Let me get one thing straight, I love VI Keeland’s books. So, loving this book is also not an exception. I’ve read this book few years back and I’ve re-read it recently and I enjoyed it never-the-less.

“Bossman” as the name suggests is a romance between a boss and his employee. Technical when they first meet they did not have an employer-employee relationship. This is such a sexy, witty, funny and amazing book that I couldn’t stop myself from re-reading it.

Reese and Chase first meet in a restaurant when they were both on a date, with different people. And since I don’t want to spoil anything (if you haven’t read this yet, that is), that was the best part of the book for me. No matter how many times I think about it, that particular scene still manages to bring a smile on my face.

Reese is a strong, independent woman. She has her own issues. I loved how she was willing to fight her feeling towards Chase so as to not repeat the past mistakes she made.

Chase Parker, owner of the Parker Industry is an Alpha-male. VI Keeland is the queen of writing Alpha-male characters, and I happen to fall in love with each of them. Chase is so charming, sexy and funny that it is difficult not wanting to read more and more about him. And on top of that personality like his is what I want the male characters in the books I read. He does have some baggage but that makes him well, him.

The story continues and they meet again after some time. Reese happens to need a job and Chase helps her find one. And he has no clue that she is hired by his own company. Hence, begins their journey of challenges, temptations and love.

The tension and chemistry between Chase and Reese is evident from the very beginning. The way they describe each other when they meet for the first time proves it. I love it when there is chemistry and attraction between the leads from the very first. And what can I say about their banter, it was just soo entertaining.

One thing that I really liked was the dynamic of their relationship. I agree that they had an instant attraction but they also wanted to know each other first. They wanted to connect with each other emotionally too and build a relationship. This is a sort of relationship that I want to see in books. I really like when the characters try to form a bond, other than just physical.

I really, really enjoyed this book. And I would want everybody to read it because trust me you will love Chase and Reese.

No matter how attracted she is to Deacon, Alexandra refuses to be just another conquest. But it’s Deacon himself who could be seduced—into a brighter future for himself, his daughter, and the woman he’s falling for against all odds.

My Review –

Since I have started reading motorcycle romances, I find myself wanting to read anything that belongs to this category. This book was published way before and I have only recently picked it up. And I fell in love with each of their stories.

This book is about Deacon and Alexandra. The most important thing in Deacon’s life is the Hell’s Raiders motorcycle club, well until Willow. Willow is Deacon’s five year old daughter who he met only recently.

Alexandra is a teacher. Alexandra and Willow have been very close since the first time the met .So, when she notices that Willow has been missing school for a couple of days she takes it upon herself to find out exactly why.

And hence, she finds herself meeting this motorcycle gang.

Deacon and Alexandra have a bond from the moment they see each other. May I just mention their first meeting was worth mentioning because I found it hilarious? I think Willow plays a special part in bringing them even closer. It was to make Willow happy that they even had the chance to work together to make the five year old happy.

And once they were together, they were just inseparable. They were just too damn cute together.

For me, this book was just not only the romance but their individual relationship with Willow and the rest of the motorcycle club. This would have been a three star for me, but the engagement with the rest of the characters made me love this book even more.

The bond between the Malloy brothers was so strong and pure. They had each other’s back all the damn time. Not only that, they loved Willow so much and accepted Alexandra with open arms. Knowing them in such a short time, they were willing to do anything to protect them.

Rev and willow were soooo adorable. I found myself craving to see more of these two cuties together.

Now, coming to the ending, it was something which I did see coming. I think this was a way to show how Alexandra totally became a part of the club and family.

I really enjoyed reading this book and would totally recommend this book if you haven’t read it yet.

Also, I crushed a little on Rev in this book so I can’t wait to read about him as soon as possible.

Have a secret crush? If they do this, they're probably into you | SHEmazing!

“As he held up a simple purple crayon, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that, no matter what other acts that hand might have been responsible for, I loved Deacon with all my heart.”

Penthouse Prince by Kendall Ryan

Lexington Dane was my brother’s best friend growing up.

We did everything together.

He taught me how to throw a punch, how to change a tire…and he taught me how to kiss. I fell hard and fast, and gave him all my firsts.

I promised I’d wait for him…

But I’m done waiting, because he went off to college and never came back. He took his fancy business degree and moved to New York City, where he promptly became a real estate mogul—turning every penthouse and apartment project he touched into gold.

It’s been ten years, and now he’s back and needs a favor…someone to watch his little girl. That’s right, the cocky penthouse prince and heartbreaker extraordinaire Lexington is back with an adorable two-year-old daughter. Guess who he wants to watch her?

I’ve never been able to say no to him. I might agree to be the nanny for his precious little angel, but there’s no way in hell I’m falling for her hot-as-sin daddy.

Review –

I have been a Kendall Ryan fan for as long as I remember because her books are my go to whenever I am confused about what to read next. So, you can guess how excited I was about Penthouse Prince. But, to my utter disappointed, this book just didn’t cut out for me.

I am in love with her “Hot Jocks” series, but this one just could not come to my likings.

So, the book is about Lexington and Corrigan. Lexington stays in NY City and works with the real estate and also has a two year old daughter. Corrigan is a first grade teacher and lives in North Carolina, their home town.

Lexington and Corrigan had history alright. They dated back in high school, all the while keeping it a secret from Dak (Corrigan’s brother and Lexington’s best friend). And now, he is back for good.

I thought Lexington was a very charming and mature character. You know, always there for his daughter and mother. Corrigan, to me, was rather a very simple character, invested in her own life.

They had chemistry, I agree. But, their chemistry didn’t make me swoon. It was meh for me. I couldn’t be bothered about them caring for each other. It was very fast paced and I finished it in an hour and half. I just could see the anticipation building here. And, I was actually waiting for the book to be over.

The themes in book were very nicely chosen though. It is a second chance romance, with the single dad and the brother’s best friend trope. So, if you like any of these you cold check this out.

There are many readers who actually enjoyed it very much, but I couldn’t find myself liking it, which is totally on me though.

” I fell hard and fast, and gave him all my firsts.

I promised I’d wait for him…

But I’m done waiting “

Synopsis –

The Rivals

The feud between Weston Lockwood and me started at the altar.

Only neither of us attended the wedding, and the nuptials happened decades before either of us was born.

Our grandfathers had been best friends and business partners, at least up until my grandfather’s wedding day—when his bride-to-be blurted out she couldn’t marry him because she was also in love with Weston‘s grandfather.

The two men spent years fighting over Grace Copeland, who also happened to be their third business partner.  But in the end, neither man could steal half of her heart away from the other.

Eventually, they all went their separate ways. Our grandfathers married other women, and the two men became one of the biggest business rivals in history.

Our fathers continued the family tradition of feuding. And then Weston and I did, too.

For the most part, we kept as much distance as possible.

Until the day the woman who started the feud died—and unexpectedly left one of the most valuable hotels in the world to our grandfathers to share.

Now I’m stuck in a hotel with the man I was born to hate, trying to unravel the mess our families inherited.

As usual, it didn’t take long for us to be at each other’s throats.

Weston Lockwood was everything I hated: tall, smart, cocky, and too gorgeous for his own good.  We were fire and ice.

But that shouldn’t be an issue. Our families were used to being at war. There was just one minor problem, though. Every time Weston and I fought, we somehow wound up in bed.

Review –

They were destined to hate each other from the moment they were born. The reason for the unending hate was a years old friendship turned enmity. The two of them never ever get along. Except one time, the one time that the both of them never seem to forget about.

Now, years later, here they are at The Countess, their job -competing for the one thing that the two families co-own, thanks to Grace Copeland.

What could go wrong, right?

What Could Possibly Go Wrong 11th GIF - WhatCouldPossiblyGoWrong 11th Doctor - Discover & Share GIFs

Their attraction and chemistry still prevails, stronger than ever.

Weston and Sophie argue. A. Lot. And each argument somehow brings them closer and closer. What was supposed to be a onetime thing, turns into something more? No matter how hard Sophie tries to resist Weston, she cannot help but develop feelings for him. No matter how much Weston thinks he doesn’t deserve Sophie, he cannot help but leave her alone.

Now Never Ends~: He was *so* checking her out ;)

I cannot stress enough on how much I love VI Keeland. I mean all of her books are power packed. The moment Weston was introduced I fell in love with him. Can you blame me though? Sophie and Weston’s banter was to die for. I loveeedd how he loved teasing her yet he was always there, having her back (unlike her own goddamn father). And their sexually tension could break ice.

I cannot imagine how VI Keeland comes up with such beautiful characters (inside and out). Take Weston for instance, under that entire bad boy, womanizer exterior, was a broken man. He was definitely not the arrogant person he pretends to be. And knowing his story, it broke my heart seeing him hurt.

Sophie on the other hand was a really strong woman. Despite of all the doubts and betrayal she got from the men in her life, she was hell bent on proving them wrong (and she did a pretty great job at that ).

Apart from all the drama and feelings this book was out right sexy. I mean aren’t all VI Keeland book though?

This is a funny, sexy, emotional, enemies-to-lovers romance which is full of family drama. The hero and heroine are opposites and you know what they say about opposites and attraction. The story is told is dual perspective, which was soo damn helpful is understanding and connecting to the characters.

Weston struggles to find his place in his family and Sophie is determined to show her family who she exactly is. So can they find what they exactly need in each other?

“Before I met you, I had no purpose. It didn’t take long after you stormed into my life to realize the reason I’d been lost was because you hadn’t found me yet. My purpose in life is to love you.”
